Aviary, a company known for really innovative flash based creation tools, have added a nice HTML5 photo editor to Aviary’s editing suite.
Aviary’s HTML5 image editor (code named Feather) offers a whole bunch of options to edit any photo. You can upload images from your computer or grab a publicly accessible URL to upload any photo in the editor. But the most impressive part is that the online image editor works without Flash, so this is great news for users who don’t install flash (iPad users for example) and always wanted a full featured online image editing application.
As mentioned in the official blog post:
We are launching a super-simple and embeddable HTML5 photo editor that will allow users of third party websites to directly fix and retouch their photos without ever leaving those websites.
There aren’t much bells and whistles, simple clutter free interface and basic photo editing options are provided. This includes cropping, rotating, fixing or removing red eye, color and saturation adjustment, adding text, drawings, fixing brightness, contrast and so on.
What I liked regarding Aviary’s Feather are the cool one touch effects such as applying an old photo effect, retro, instant photo effect and Toy camera. There are undo and redo buttons available, so you can always switch to the default version of the image, if you make any mistake.
There is more, you can grab an embed code and embed the HTML5 image editor in your own website or blog. The embeddable image editor can be customized according to your needs, you can choose the tools you want and remove those you don’t. Get the embed code here
