Thanks Soumen Halder. I’ll check out Siphon right now. I have been fighting this Hijacker for about two weeks now, Reinstalling isn’t a huge deal because I keep most of my important stuff on a external drive and to lessen the chance of a virus spreading to that drive I only fire it up to retrieve things I need then shut it back down. I am the administrator on this computer in fact I’m the only user on this computer. I also tried running the Spy programs in Safe Mode and got the same results.

@WarDragon if u r using Vista/7 try running the anti-spyware programs as administrator. Though I suggest you backup your passwords, bookmarks, preferences, history and tabs using Firefox Sync. To backup the addons try Siphon. While backing up addons, be selective as the problem may be hidden in any of them also. Try choosing only which are indispensable. I think those are enough to get a backup of the existing Firefox working environment.

I’m thinking of re installing my os soon. I got a browser hijacker that I just cant get rid of. It is affecting Explorer and Firefox. I think it also is preventing me from running programs to get rid of it.I can’t even run Spybot – Search & Destroy , Spyware Terminator or SUPER AntiSpyware. when I try to run the program they are terminated before the even start. My question is will this backup program back up the browser Hijacker as well or will I be safe to reinstall Firefox with this?

@ CrazyBlogger : Yep. Using Mozbackup you can completely backup a Firefox profile and use that backup file later on. It’s a lifesaver in case you want to format your system or use the same firefox settings over another computer

I searched for backup in FF for nearly an hour and just left it. Now, here you are sharing such a wonderful tips to backup FF data. I am trying to install a fresh copy of OS on my computer and I always hesitate this because of the data that I have saved on FF. I have about 50-60 username and password saved in FF.

Thanks man. Sometimes firefox behaves weird and i have to uninstall, reinstall and reinstall all my add ons. At least I can now prevent that with this program
