How to Block YouTube Advertisements

The overlay video advertisements on YouTube is very annoying, you start watching a cool music video or something and suddenly the advertisement slides in from the bottom. These YouTube video ads appear on selected videos and this seems to be the only way YouTube makes money.

There are browser extensions available to block JavaScript ads but if you want to block ads on YouTube video page, try TubeStop. It’s a Firefox add-on which blocks the in video advertisements when you play a video.

Christopher Finke, the developer of TubeStop originally made the extension to stop the autoplay feature of YouTube videos and then accidentally discovered that the extension blocked the Youtube ads anyway. All in all, a great extension to stop YouTube ads for a distraction free video watching experience.
