Forget TwitterFeed: Connect Feedburner With Your Twitter Account
Do you have a blog and use Feedburner to syndicate your Rss feed? Are you an active Twitter user and wished if you could post your blog updates to Twitter using Feedburner?
Here is a good reason to rejoice. Feedburner has added integration with Twitter, which means you can use Feedburner to cross post your blog updates on Twitter, automatically.
To get started, just login to your Feedburner account and go to “Publicize” tab. Click “Socialize” from the left sidebar.

Click on “Add a Twitter account” and you will be taken to the Twitter Oauth page to validate the Feedburner application. Click “Allow” and you will be prompted back in the Feedburner account.
This is an extremely good news to all the Bloggers and Twitter users as Feedburner can give you deep insights on how your site is performing in Twitter. Earlier we have covered how to track Rss subscriptions with Google analytics and now Feedburner is again on the news, with Twitter integration.
Customization: You can customize the Rss feed of your blog and choose exactly which items are posted in your Twitter account. Here is how the settings in Feedburner look:

- You can choose to use hash tags to automatically appear in your Tweets.
- Additional text and the number of items syndicated in each cross update can be set according to your choice.
- Feedburner allows a custom keyword filter and you can allow or deny access to specific posts being posted in your Twitter account.
- You can choose to post updates from a specific category of your blog in your Twitter account. Now, that’s a real improvement.
- You can add multiple Twitter accounts in Feedburner and can safely ignore the much popular service Twitterfeed.
Note: The default URL shortener used by Feedburner is goo.gl
