Create Desktop Applications From A Website or Online Tool Using Firefox
As we all know, Google Chrome comes with an in-built feature of creating applications from websites or online tools. I have demonstrated that in my post on how to create a desktop to-do list manager using Google Tasks and Chrome. Now what if we could do the same using Firefox ? I know, the idea intrigued me a lot. Mozilla Corp has developed one such app named Prism for Mac and Firefox.

Download the Prism Firefox Add-on and install it. That is all you are done. Now under Tools menu you will find an option to “Convert Website to Application…”.
From now on if you want to create a desktop application for any website/web app, just visit the it using Firefox, then go to Tools > Convert Website to Application…
For an example I’m creating a “Ampercent Facebook Fanpage” Desktop App from Firefox.
1. Open Ampercent Facebook Fanpage in Firefox.
2. Go to Tools > Convert Website to Application…

3. Now configure the Desktop App.

4. You are done. Open Facebook by double-clicking on the desktop shortcut.(If in any case it doesn’t load properly, press the
button in the app window).

Feel free to ask if you are having any problems with it. Share your valuable comments with us.
