While there are other Services to merge Multiple feeds into One but Yahoo pipes is the service that we would be using.The reason Behind is that Yahoo pipes is far more flexible and you can add your Custom Rules per feed.

1.Sign in to Yahoo pipes with your yahoo account and click On “Create a pipe”

You will see the following Screen.

2.From the left Sidebar Drag and Drop the Module “Fetch Feed” into the Board.Add the Blog feed URL that you wish to show In your List.

3.Similarly fetch the Feeds of all the Blogs that you wish to show In your list.For example if you wish to fetch the Feeds of 4 Blogs then create separate feed windows for each feed.Do not Merge them into One as We will be adding Rules to each feed later on.

4.Now you need to Add rules to each Feed.this Depends on your taste and What you wish to Show on your Blog or RSS reader.

Let Us Suppose you wish to show 1 post from each Blog in an Ascending order in your List.To achieve this :

5.Add the function “Truncate” from the Left pane for each feed.The Truncate function is Used to Limit the Number of feeds Of each feed Item In the resulting List.Pipe each Feed with the Truncate function and Set the value that You wish to show per feed.

6.Pipe All your feeds the Similar way.Now add the Function “Union” from the Left pane.The “Union” Function is Used to add the output of Several Functions Into one.

7. Merge the outputs of all the Truncated Feeds with the Input to “Union”.

8.Next Pipe the Output of the “Union” function to the Input of “Output”.That’s It.The Hard part is Over.

This Pipe which I have created Returns the Latest post (1) from my Favourite 4 Blogs in ascending order as they Update.

9.Run the Pipe that You created and Save It.After that From Properties you will be able to Get the RSS feed of the Pipe that You created.

10.Subscribe to that pipe In your feed Reader or You can Add that pipe in your Blog as a widget in The sidebar.

What is a Wamp Server ? : WAMP server is Windows Apache MySQL PHP Server all bundled into one nice package.You don’t need to test your Wordpress blogs theme Online.Instead try these offline with Wamp Srver.It creates a Mirror copy of your Website in your machine and its very easy to Configure.So lets get started !

Download

1.Download The latest version of Wordpress from The Official Wordpress Site.

2.Download the Wamp Server and Install it.It is recommended to Install It in the Default path “ C:Wamp”

Configuring the Wamp Server

Start the Wamp server and Click on the Wamp Icon on System tray.Then Click On “Start all Services”

Creating the database

Click on the System tray Icon and Click On “phpMyadmin”.A Page Will open in your Browser.(If you are Not familiar with the Php My Admin Interface Don’t panic!).Just Enter a database name in Create New database and Hit on Create.The database name can be anything ( Here i am Using “Test” as the database name)

Configuring The database

Okay ! Now that You have successfully created the database Open “SQLitemanager” by clicking the System tray  Icon.This Will open the SQLite page in your Browser

Upload the database :In The SQLite page you need to upload the database that You just Created In phpMyadmin.Enter the name of the database (in this case its “Test”)and Click on” Browse “.

Now navigate to “C:wampbinmysqlmysql5.0.51bdata” where you will find the Folder of the database you  Created earlier.Open that Folder and select the “db.opt” File. Check the Checkbox “Upload database” and Hit on “Save “.

If everything goes well then you will see your database in the Left Column.If you don’t see the database in the Left column then Something went wrong.Start it all over.

Configuring and Installing Wordpress

1.Next Navigate to “C:wampwww” and Create a Folder.Name it “Test”.

2.Copy all the Wordpress Files in that Directory.After You have copied the Files the directory will look like below

3.Fill in the database details :Now open wp-config-sample.php in any Text editor like Notepad .

In DB_NAME you will find ‘putyourdbnamehere’.Replace it with the database name that you created earlier.(in this case its “test”).

In DB_USER replace “usernamehere” with “root”.

In DB_PASSWORD delete ‘yourpasswordhere’.Leave it blank.

Having done that save that file.Rename it to “wp-config.php”.The following screenshots will be more clear.

4. Install Wordpress :Open http://localhost/test/wp-admin/install.php. Enter a Blog title and any email.Then Hit “Install Wordpress”.Wordpress will be Successfully installed and you will see the Final screen.

Note the Username and password Given .After logging in Click On “users” and Change  the password to a more Convenient one.All the best ! Hope you could make it.

What is a Title tag ? What Importance Does it have ?

A title tag tells both users and search engines what the topic of a particular page is.Ideally, you should create a unique title for each page on your site.Titles for deeper pages on your site should accurately describe the focus of that particular page.The <title> tag is placed within the <head> tag of an Html Document.

The general setting : Most Wordpress Blog templates Use the following Code between their Title tags.

This setting is not optimized as All the pages in this Site will show a common title tag .For example : Consider a blog on Computers having the  title : Advanced PC tips and tricks.Now if you use the un-optimized code the

1.Category pages will show : Advanced Pc tips and tricks-category

2.Tag pages will show  : Advanced pc tips and tricks-Tag.

3.Archive Pages will show : Advanced pc tips and tricks-Archives.

4.Post pages will show : Advanced Pc tips and Tricks-post title.

The Blog title needs not be showed On all the pages.You are required to show only the Post / page title On the respective pages and Your Blogs title only on the Home page.

The optimized Setting for Title Tags

Now open the header.php file for editing and replace whatever is between <title> & </title> tag with the following code:-

Now your Site will show More Accurate title tags for every page.

Optimizing the Title tags of your Wordpress Blog template

Search data retention is a major issue these days. While some backs its necessity for secured & relevant search, others opposes it for its privacy violation. You may refer Washingtonpost Journal if wish to know about the debate more or else skip it to know how you can prevent it.

You may adopt all the ten methods or you may use a specific one that works best for you.

1. Mask Your Google Searches : Whenever you search something on Google or any popular search engines they append your search without encrypting it i.e when you search “dotnet jobs” the url showing the search page is like “http://www.google.com/search?q=dotnet+jobs” and that makes data collection pretty easy. Now there is a way to mask the Google, provided indirectly by Google itself.
The website, www.americanlandmarkfence.com is  hosted on the same server with Google. You cannot feel a single difference unless you look into your browser address bar. Also the name is indistinct to the voyeurs.

2. Don’t Allow Google to Store Cookies : You have to enable cookie rejection for not only google but also for google.co.in(for INDIA) or google.co.uk(for England) also as google  redirects you to that page.

• IE: Click Tools->Internet Options->Privacy->Sites
• Firefox: Click Tool->Options->Privacy->Cookies->Exceptions

Now add the site url’s you want to reject cookies.
NB:Remember personalized search history will not be effective in these cases. You may also have to type your username & password to login to your account as you will not be automatically logged in.

3. Erase The Cookies With Cookie Cleaners : You can clean those cookies using CCleaner which is completely free. Get it here. Or you may use Advanced Track Eraser. Download it here.

4. Use Scandoo : Scandoo is a wonderful wrapper around the search engines that remains hidden from the end user & you would feel like searching in the search engine itself. It hides your original IP address from the search engines. Try it or download the Scandoo IE Toolbar.

5. Download HideMyIp Software : If you are using static IP address then can use it to hide your IP address from the search engines. It can be configured to change your IP address every minute. Download it here.

6. Download Customize Google addon for Firefox : To experience better Googling download & install he Customize Google addon. It removes ads from your search page, it filters your search results & also disable click tracking which is very vital in case of your secrecy. Download it here.

7. Block the Google Analytics Cookie : As you have the Customize Google you can avoid the nefarious google-analytics cookie that make a simple URL look heavy & most of all tracks your activity. Though it is not that malicious you can reject it too by following the steps (In Mozilla Firefox):

1. 1. Firefox -> Tools -> Customize Google Options -> Privacy
   2. Now select the option shown :

8. Use Dogpile Search : Use this search in order to avoid cookies from/to the search engines. It searches Yahoo, Google & MSN simultaneously. You can find it here.

9. Use Search Engines That Don’t Retain Your Search Data : There are some search engines that don’t reatin your search queries for more than 48 hours. In our case this is a safer search. Examples are Clusty.com & Ixquick.com.

10. Try Scroogle Google Scraper : Finally, you can try Scroogle Google Scrapper & search Google & Yahoo, without getting your search query retained. Try it here.

Now this is called the GMAIL NOTIFIER which shows the last account activity. Now click the Details button to get a more better log of your account activities. You will the log of the last five login logs as shown below :

Now as shown here you will also get yours. Now all you have to do is to click the button just above it looking like the one shown.
Now that’s all. You have just logged out of your account if left logged in anywhere (except the one you are using now).

Manikarthik : I started almost 2 years ago. But technically moved to dailyseoblog.com by July 2007. It was an experiment.

Manikarthik :I have several projects on blogging, some are group blogging projects, some are passion oriented ones. They are 14 in number and some of them are dead.

Manikarthik :I’m a full time blogger, I spent most of my time online, that’s more than eight hours a day may be.

Manikarthik:Write exclusive and refreshingly different content. I won’t say dont follow the normal cliched stuff, but atleast present it in a different manner. And also, try to be consistent.

Amit : Yours is an Seo Blog and it is quite different from Other Blogs in the Niche.Where do you Find Compelling Content ? What Inspires you to Write ?

Manikarthik :Thanks for the comment. Well, I’ve been experimenting things myself right when I started off, so most of the articles were inferences of those. I always tried to write simple, easy to understand content and not the regular BS. So inspiration is my practices and experiments if they can be called so.

Amit : Are there any mistakes that lots of people make that end up doing more harm than good concerning Seo?
Manikarthik :I guess yes. For instance following a 6% Keyword density was a formula many people followed. But it’s not relevant anymore. And that’s one thing about SEO, algorithms change and you have to be on the edge to follow the right ones. Those who were following strict mathematical keyword densities did well once, but when Google moved away from it, they were pushed to the “spam crowd”. Unfortunately, even today many “SEO’s” claim that Keyword density is relevant, but it is their loss not understanding it properly. The biggest mistake in SEO is when you follow a pattern or formula. It’s a dangerous trend.

Amit : What are the Basic Seo practices you would Suggest For Beginners ?
Manikarthik:Write lot of textual content that’s got a lot of food for the engines. That may mean very long articles. And use a balanced onsite optimization strategy on them. Follow a good link building habit, that’s healthy for you. Quit thinking that things happen fast and quick fixes work. No. Things happen really slow but once you achieve the quality bar, things will probably soar from there.

Amit : What are some of the biggest misconceptions about SEO that you hear from Bloggers ? From other SEOs?

1 - Keyword densities work.
2 - Page rank is all about one thousand link backs.
3 - Page rank affects SERPs positions.
4 - SEO methods are 100% guaranteed.

Amit : Webmasters give a lot of attention to Meta tags and submission tricks for high rankings. What part does relevant content play in the search engine marketing ? How important is keyword-rich content in an SEO campaign?
Manikarthik :Meta tags does not affect directly in your SERPs. They are only an additional detail. But yes relevant content is very important. Keyword rich content is important, but more important would be a natural richness brought through use of keyword variations and highlighting.

Amit : What kind of effect do you think social media has had on the search marketing industry?
Manikarthik :Social Media is the next big thing (It is already). My guess is social media will be closely involved in search and deciding what is popular and not. Like the Google Search Wiki that’s introduced lately, I won’t be surprised if a certain part of SEPRs is controlled by user generated content.

Amit : What do you think the most important SEO trends will be in the coming years?
Manikarthik :Mobile search and off web SEO will soar up and more platforms that run parallel to the web will come into existence.

Manikarthik :Ensuring quality for the articles and not endind up as a “yet another guy” .

Amit : What has been the most satisfying part of growing Daily Seo Blog ?
Manikarthik :A healthy readership base and recognition. It might sound silly, but I outsource some of my work to the US, we all thought it’s the other way round, right ? So DSB has helped me build a platform to establish myself as an authority, or so I prefer to believe.

Amit : How has your blog audience changed over the years?
Manikarthik :They’ve grown in numbers, which is great.

Amit : Your Biggest Blogging Success?
Manikarthik :Well, DSB of course. Being able to work from home, earning four times a daily job, and being in company with your kid almost all the time is fantastic. Is it not?
