Google Maps is one of the best online mapping software available till date. You can use Google Maps to find the distance between any two places on earth. Moreover, Google Maps is also helpful when you want to learn the shortest path or route between two places.
Following are the steps involved to find the distance between two cities using Google Maps:
1. Open the Distance Measurement Tool and add it to “My Maps” in your Google Maps account.

Find the Total Distance Travelled Between Multiple Cities
Imagine you are out on a family vacation and would be travelling to multiple cities one by one. If you want to calculate the total distance travelled during the tour, Google Maps will help you out. You can know the total distance travelled between multiple cities in a few mouse clicks.
Select the distance measurement tool in Google Maps and select the places or cities one by one. The route will be traced in the right pane and the distance travelled shown in the left. Neat!
The distance measurement tool can be made a bit more creative – find the distance between your home and office, measure the area of a stadium or may be find the length of a river bridge.
For example: I measured the approximate length of Howrah bridge situated over the river Ganges at Kolkata, using Google Maps.
