Discover New Music Videos On YouTube

Searching for your favorite music video on YouTube is easier than before, thanks to the new revamped YouTube music page. The YouTube music page shows the most viewed music videos for the present day, special promotions, playlists and lets you view random playlists created by other YouTube users.

Start with browsing through the categories dropdown right at the top of the page, you can browse popular music videos on YouTube quickly:

There are various genres to suit your mood, this includes – Blues, Classical, Country, Folk, Electronic, Indie, Alternative, Jazz, Pop,  Soul, Rap, Hip-Hop, Religious and Rock.

Selecting a particular category genre will let you view popular videos from that category that have been shared by other users in the present day. There are three featured playlists on top of the page, this will be useful when you want to quickly turn on some random music that is popular today. The “Hits” section is updated every two hours.

Selecting the playlist is a great way to discover popular videos on YouTube automatically. YouTube is soon planning to add an “Events’ section which will contain local music listings. This means, you would soon be able to view videos of local artists from YouTube music page.

Looks like YouTube is planning quite a few changes to encourage visitor interaction on the site. Just earlier this month, YouTube announced another service called LeanBack. YouTube LeanBack lets you sit back and watch a stream of videos based on your account settings, subscriptions, preferences and the videos shared by your Facebook friends.

    Hi,
am glad you like the new youtube feature. Good for you.
    I don’t.
Maybe it’s me missing something but how in hell can you actually see ALL music videos in order of their views?
Once you select a category of music (e.g. Indie) you see a few (so very few!) most popular videos and that’s all.
I dont’ see any ‘show all’ button. Just Today’s hits and the popular artists. What does one do to see ALL of them shown in views order??
Second objection: it is bad web page development to change the interface through your site but that is what youtube is doing all the time! Browse commands should be readily visible for the user (eventually may be minimized) and REMAIN the same through the site. One would think a big company like youtube would know that.. I actually think they know that but have their own reasons not to apply it.
Last thing: the LeanBack service has no appeal to me at all. Are they trying to be a television station? that’s not why i use youtube. May be good for some users but i hope this will not weaken the strong point of the site: upload and search video materials on specific subjects. Have an active role not be force fed videos like tv horribly does.
    Regards
