LinkedIn’s Resume Builder Turns Your LinkedIn Profile Into an Online Resume

The LinkedIn team has recently released a brilliant online resume builder which can turn your LinkedIn profile into a printable resume in just a few mouse clicks. All you have to do is login to your LinkedIn account, grant all the necessary permissions to the app and off you go.

You will soon be provided a link to download your LinkedIn profile as a PDF document, you may also choose to print your LinkedIn profile on paper.

There are three samples available for the LinkedIn online resume builder, given below is a screenshot of the second sample found in the LinkedIn labs:

Let’s face it – keeping your online resume in sync and ready at hand is a difficult job. You have to regularly update your contact and work related information, the clients with whom you have worked or currently working and other whereabouts of your business. There is always Google Docs resume templates, where you can use the template gallery to create CV’s, cover letters, job resumes and other career related documents.

But the problem with Google Docs is that you have to first create the document from scratch, there is no way to fetch all your career information from LinkedIn or Facebook accounts. If you have a well maintained and search optimized LinkedIn profile which is regularly updates, it’s a good idea to use LinkedIn’s online resume builder and print the resume on paper. You never know when the next interview call is going to come and you might not have enough time creating a fresh resume from scratch.

The good thing regarding LinkedIn’s resume builder is that the app supports the MarkDown syntax which means – you can edit the template, add numbers, sections, bulleted lists , header tags and other elements to the online resume. You can start creating the printable version of your resume or LinkedIn profile at the LinkedIn labs page.

The resume builder is smart but comoto.com is better (also with LinkedIn import) as it give me more than one CV option, privacy control and net profiles with a password – and I separate between relationship network and people whom I share my CV with Erik
