Set An Online Timer For Any Website with X.minutes.at

Written by Amit Banerjee on 16 Mar, 2010 Under Web Tools

We have seen services like Keepmeout, which lets you set timed visits to particular websites of your choice. You can use them to assign a particular amount of time for specific websites (e.g Facebook) and control your web addiction.

x.minutes.at is another service but with a different idea. Just type x.minutes.at before any web address and the service starts an online timer on that website. online-timer-for-any-website

This can be quite useful as you can use the site to assign fixed amount of time for all the various websites you visit on a regular basis. The timer can be paused and the time length can be adjusted in between, although there is no sound alarm. Once the assigned time is finished, you are greeted with a browser prompt window “Time is Up!”

As for me, I will use it to check how many words I type when I compose a post within WordPress. You can also use the following browser bookmarklet which will start a timer of 5 minutes on any website.

5 Minute timerdrag and drop in the bookmarks toolbar.

Also see some nice online alarm clock websites.
