How to Play AVI Files in Windows Media Player
Windows Media player do not support avi format audio and video files. To play avi files most people rely on other media players like VLC Media player or the GOM player. But installing an XVID codec will let Windows Media Player play the avi files for you.
First download the XVID codec Xvid-1.1.3-27042008.exe.You will find it here.
Now install the codec and you will be able to play your avi files from Windows Media player.
I earlier used VLC media player as my default player as it supported a whole lot of audio and Video Formats. But after installing the proper Codecs Windows Media player has again become my favorite Media player. The reason behind is that the Interface,Audio and Video Quality of Windows Media Player is far better than other Media players.
Update: If you are unable to find or install the codec please let me know in the Comments Section.I will try to provide you the Updated Link for the Codec.
