How to Remove Preferred Networks Notification in Windows 7

If you use your computer on different wireless or Wi-fi networks, over time your network sharing center will be filled with dozens of networks which is not required anymore. When you openn the Network and sharing center in Windows7, you get a large number of network options, this can be utterly confusing.

If you want to clean up Windows7 Network and sharing center and remove preferred network notifications from Windows 7, follow the simple steps mentioned below:

1. Right click the network icon from Windows7 system tray and choose “Open Network and Sharing center”.

For Windows XP users: If your present network connection is Wireless and there are other wireless networks already stored in your network settings, you will see another option as “View Available Wireless Networks”. Click that option.

2. In the Network and sharing center, choose “Manage Wireless networks” from the left sidebar as shown below:

3. Now you will see a list of Wireless networks shown in the next window. Identify your currently active wireless network and right click all the others and delete them one by one.
