Scrapboy manages your Orkut, Facebook and Myspace accounts from desktop

I have always felt the need of a desktop Client to manage my Facebook and Orkut accounts.Using Scrapboy you can manage your Orkut,Facebook and Myspace accounts all in one place.

The Interface is Simple and i tried it with my Facebook and Orkut accounts and it worked out well ( I am not a Myspace user yet )

Instant Notification : The Interface is Simple and You get instant notifications whenever you get a new scrap,a  friend request etc.A new pop up opens with a Sleek “Ding” so forget reloading your Orkut account in your Browser.

Subscribe to Friends :You can Subscribe to your Friends Updates  and receive notifications.Scrapboy also allows you to Filter the Updates  and Customize what Kind of Updates you want to receive.

View photo Albums privately : You can browse through your friends photo album without visiting his/her profile.This is a unique feature you can take advantage of.When you visit anyone’s album using scrapbook,your name won’t appear in their recent visitor’s list.( Note: Photo Comments are not viewable in Scrapboy ).

Limitations :If you are a power Orkut user then Scrapbook is not for you.You cannot view community or direct messages.Also you cannot view older scraps (Scraps older than two weeks are not accessible).But it suits and serves my purpose as most of my friends are active on Orkut and i do not like opening Orkut in my browser all the time.

You need to grant permission to the Scrapbook Application to pull information from your Facebook account.Once that’s done it is fairly easy to browse through your Facebook profile.

Customize and Filter Updates : Receive pop-up notifications on your desktop when you or any of the friends you subscribed to have Facebook news.You can also Filter your updates by selecting exactly which friends you want to get updates from and what kind of updates you want to hear about.(ex: pokes, group invites, new photos, etc). You receive the notification as it happens so there is no need to reload your Facebook account in your Browser all the time

See Status messages and Wall posts :Just type in the Friend’s name in the quick friend search bar to find your friend, his or her profile picture and current status instantly.You can also see their wall Posts.

View Slideshows of your friend Albums : You can see your photos or your  friends albums as a slideshow from the scrapbook window itself.You can also View deleted wall posts Of your Friends which is a distinct feature.

All in all Scrapboy brings Social networks in your desktop under a single interface and if you are busy doing other works at your Workplace or Office just let Scrapboy sit in the system tray and receive updates.Download Scrapboy (Windows only)
