Google Webmaster Tools Tells How Fast Your Site Loads
Google webmaster tools have recently added an experimental feature which shows you detailed information about how fast your blog loads and shows you suggestions to improve the loading time of your website.
To see the detailed information, just log in to Google webmaster tools and click Labs > Site performance
Here you will find a graphical overview of your website’s loading time and examples of specific pages with their actual load time (with suggestions).
And here is how the page suggestions look
The suggestions are straight forward and makes sense. It shows you how much kilobytes can be saved on a specific page if you carry on with the given suggestions. Reducing the number of DNS look ups, combining the JS and CSS files and enabling gzip compression helps a lot in reducing your web page’s load time.
Note: The load time data that you see in Google webmaster central reports is obtained from information sent by users in your site who have Google toolbar installed and have the “enhanced features” option on. If you do not see web page load data in your Google webmaster account, chances are there that your site do not have enough visitors using Google toolbar.
