Anybody who loves to get it back could try this simple hack to enjoy the feature in Windows 7.

1. Go to [Windows 7 Drive]:\Program Files.

2. Create a new folder and name it Windows Calendar.

3. Download Calendar for Win7 and unzip its contents to the newly created folder under Program Files. You can find the application file within the folder Windows Calendar. Pin it to the taskbar.

4. Use the shortcut in the taskbar to start the application.

There are plenty of calendars and to do list managers available for Windows. Although using Windows’ own calendar is quite easy. The tool is simple to use and people who were using it already must be glad to get it back. The tool is free and with very little memory requirements. However I still prefer Google Calendar over all other task management tools and using another tool for Windows increases the overhead. So I only recommend the tool for people who are completely obsessed with it.

Download Windows Calendar for Windows 7 originally published on Ampercent

Reminder Fox Sets Reminders in Firefox to Manage Tasks and To Do’s

Software

Feature

Firefox

Firefox Addons

To Do Lists

If you are a Firefox fan and want to set up custom alerts or reminders right inside the browser, you will love using Reminder Fox. You can set alerts for tasks, create to do lists, remember important schedules and so much more.

The problem with a desktop tool for task management is that you have to maintain a dedicated software for managing reminders and to do lists. They aren’t simple to use and as time goes on, the overhead increases. This is where Reminder Fox comes into play. It lets you set automatic alerts for tasks in Firefox and create To do lists so that you don’t miss out on things that need your attention.

How to use Reminder Fox to Increase productivity

Adding reminders: Once the add-on is installed, you will notice a ribbon like icon placed at the right end of the Firefox status bar. Double click it to open the main Reminder Fox interface.

Just pick a date and hit the “Add Reminder” button to add a reminder. You can add start and finish dates for the task as well as choose the interval to repeat the reminder in case you miss it. The calendar view looks impressive as it allows you to plan things ahead and set future goals.

The reminders are shown as pop ups at the right corner of the screen. You can also choose to display the latest upcoming task in the status bar as a simple text item.

You can categorize the reminders according to events and dates. Missed a task and wished it could be added to the next day? Reminder Fox lets you export items to any date so there is nothing to worry if you forget a task.(Tip: Firefox add-ons for more productivity.)

Managing To Do lists with Reminder fox: One thing that caught my eye is the To Do list feature which allows you to create a list of tasks for any particular day. Important items in the list are marked red so you can quickly spot the task that needs your immediate attention.

Including a sound alarm and adding email support for tasks would have been perfect. Nothing earth shaking but I am sure you will love using it.

Reminder Fox Sets Reminders in Firefox to Manage Tasks and To Do’s originally published on Ampercent

Create A Desktop To-Do List Manager Using Google Tasks & Chrome

Web Tools

Feature

Google Chrome

Google Tasks

How to

To Do Lists

Tricks and Tutorials

We are in an era when our attention is necessary for almost everything. there is so much to remember these days. To-Do Apps appear as a savior. So let us now see how to create a free Task management app out of our favorite Google(Task and Chrome).

1. Open this link(http://mail.google.com/tasks/canvas) in Google Chrome. Sign in using your Google account credentials.

2. Click the Google Chrome Menu button and then go to “Create application shortcuts…”. After that you could select the necessary location for placing the shortcut. I’ll be creating on my desktop. So, from now on you can start the app just by double-clicking the app shortcut on your desktop.

Creating Task Lists :

Start the app. You will notice that, there is already a default list created for you, which can be found in the left pane. This is named after you. You could delete this or keep it as it is. You can also create new lists form this app.

1. Click the New List button in the top left corner.

2. Now name the list as you like.

3. Once you had created it, it will be there in the left pane.

Creating New tasks and assigning it to any list :

1. Click anywhere below previously created tasks in the to-do lists pane(the pane to the right).

2. Now name the task. Click the “>” button to the right of the task name to edit details like due date, description and assigning it to a particular list.

(Related – Manage Important Tasks and To Do lists With FruitFulTime Task Manager)

I love to use this just because this is pretty simple and saves your time from installing another software for it. But the only part that I do not like about it is that, you have to be connected to Internet in case you have to use it. Share your ideas about this trick via comments.

[via Webiyo]

Create A Desktop To-Do List Manager Using Google Tasks & Chrome originally published on Ampercent
