uTorrent Remote Lets You Start, Stop Or Monitor Torrent Downloads From Android

Do you download a lot of files using Torrent or even create your own torrent files, seed them and share with friends and family members ? Do you hate monitoring torrent downloads from desktop and want an easier way to start, stop or pause torrent downloads from your Android device ?

Bittorrent has recently released an official app for uTorrent remote application. The Android app is pretty useful when you are on the go and want to pause or restart a torrent download which is running in one of your desktop computers (e.g Windows, Linux or MAC).

With the official Bittorrent remote app for Android, you can remotely start torrent downloads from your mobile device or can stop ongoing downloads at your desktop computer, anytime from the mobile device. Another advantage of using this Android Bittorrent app is that you can search for torrents on the web and add them to your desktop client seamlessly. There is no need to bookmark the location of the torrent, go home, open the link, download the torrent and mount it on the desktop torrent client (Currently, the app works with Android 2.1 or above).

What I really liked above the application is the ability to add RSS feeds for torrents and download selected files from the RSS feed to your desktop computer. So it doesn’t matter where you are, as long as as you have that Android device and your desktop computer is running – you can add Torrents, RSS feeds from any website and remotely start a torrent download from Android.

As you can see, the app shows the current status of the torrent that is being downloaded, the upload speed, number of seeds and peers and the total file size that has been downloaded to your computer. Apart from monitoring, resuming, pausing and starting torrent downloads from your home computer, you can also copy completed downloads to your Android device. This is really a great addition which works only when you have uTorrent Version 3.0 running on the desktop computer at home or office.
