endtask When a program stops responding, the obvious process is to terminate it by opening the task manager. To open the Task manager we have to press Ctrl+Alt+del and manually abort the program which is not responding. This process can be automated with a registry tweak in XP.

Windows will automatically close the non responsive program if you apply the following Registry tweak

1.From the Start Menu click Run.Type in “regedit”(without quotations) and click OK.This will open the Registry Editor.

2.From the Left pane Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl Panel Desktop.

3.Double click on Autoend Tasks.Change the Default value from 0 to 1.

nonresponsive

In future if you want to Use the task Manager to manually end Non Responsive programs just set the Value to 0.

Disclaimer: It is not recommended to edit the registry without proper Knowledge.I don’t guarantee that this will work for everyone.Do this at your own Risk.
