How to Allow Someone to Ring Your Phone When DND is ON [iOS 10]
Previously, there was only silent mode. You all know that it prevents all kinds of sounds like incoming calls, notifications etc. However, now you can find one more thing, which is called DND or Do Not Disturb, which lets users block all kind of notifications including phone calls, messages and other notifications. The Silent mode of iOS can make vibration but the DND doesn’t even do that. Your phone will keep receiving all the things but it won’t show anything. Even your screen’s light will go off when DND is turned on.
The advantage of Do Not Disturb is you will not get distracted when you want to concentrate on something. The mobile phone distracts us the most. Therefore, if you can mute all the notifications on your mobile, there is a high chance to prepare yourself for concentrating on something.
The disadvantage of Do Not Disturb is you may miss important phone calls or messages. Sometime, people call us for emergency. If your Do Not Disturb mode is activated, you won’t get any notification for anything.
Therefore, if you want to allow someone to ring your phone when DND in ON, here is a trick. This is also possible to get text message notification from someone when Do Not Disturb is enabled on your iOS device. However, iOS 9 or older version doesn’t have such settings or options. You must have to opt for iOS 10 in order to get such options on your iDevice. That also implies you do not need to install any third party app to let someone ring your phone when DND is turned on.
Allow Someone to Ring Your Phone When DND is ON in iOS 10
This is very easy to enable that. Like said before, you do not need to install any third party app or jailbreak your device to do so. At first, select a contact that you want to allow. You will get an Edit option visible on your top right corner. On the following page, you will get some options to change the name, phone number, email ID etc. Here, you should get the option called Ringtone, which is Default by default.
After tapping on Ringtone settings of that contact, you will get an option known as Emergency Bypass. By default, it should be turned off. This option will assist you to ring your phone when he/she will calling you even when the Do Not Disturb mode is turned on. Therefore, toggle the corresponding button to turn on Emergency Bypass.
That’s it! This is as simple as said. Hope it would be helpful for you.
