How to Trim Video Using VLC Media Player
VLC Media Player is one of the best media player out there, which is being used by thousands of people from across the globe. It doesn’t matter whether you want to play a .mp3 file or .mp4 file, you can try that with VLC Media Player. This media player is famous because of many reasons. First, this is a cross-platform music player, which is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, etc. On the other hand, it comes with a lot of features that you might like. For example, you can trim video using VLC Media Player.
Many times, we need to cut a video to show something to our friends or anybody. For example, you have a movie, but you want to show a clip of that movie to your friend or someone else. - You cannot use this same method on Mac or any other platform. This feature is limited to Windows only.
- VLC does record every frame. That means, if you want to cut a 2 minutes clip, you have to wait until 120 seconds.
Otherwise, this trick is smooth, and it works perfectly with any video that VLC media player can play.
Trim Video Using VLC Media Player
This is very easy and not much time consuming as well. If you have already installed VLC Media Player, go to the second step. Otherwise, install this media player on Windows. This is available for Windows XP SP3 or later version.
After installing, open any video that you want to trim. There are some options those are not available by default in VLC Media Player. You have to enable those functions. For that, click the View and select Advanced controls.
Following that, you should find some options above the default menu bar in the bottom. You should see a Record button along with some other options. Now, click the Record button at the starting point. For example, if you want to cut the video at the 56th second, you need to wait till VLC gets to the 56th second and then, you need to click the Record button.
After that, whenever you want to stop, click the same button again.
Now, your trimmed video will be saved in the Videos folder. This is a Library folder, and you can access it from Windows Explorer’s left-hand side.
