Windows is one of the most popular operating systems out there that is being used by millions of people across the globe. This is popular because Microsoft has made it simpler, easy to use and affordable. Their latest plan to make it free for previous Windows users is just awesome to attract more people towards Windows.
The most beautiful thing of Windows is you can use dual boot. That means, suppose you have Windows 10 stable version on a partition and you want to try Windows 10 Insider Preview at the same time. At such moment, you can simply install Windows 10 Insider Preview on any other partition and use both of them simultaneously. This can be done with any other Windows version.
However, after using dual boot, some people claimed that both of the install Windows appear with same name on boot screen. This problem generally occurs when you try to install the second Windows on the same partition where your previous Windows already is. This same can take place after upgrading older Windows to Windows 10.
On Microsoft and other support forums, many people have stated this same issue. All of them have upgraded their PC from Windows 8.1/7 to Windows 10. Most of them are using Windows 10 Home Edition or Pro. No matter what is your problem source, but if you are getting this same issue, you can simply rename Windows and the change will be effected on the boot screen when you will go to select whether you want to run previous Windows or newer.
How to Rename Windows
This is easy with the help of EasyBCD. EasyBCD is such a software that can help you to rename Windows. This tool is available for Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and Windows 10. This is possible to download it for 32-bit as well as 64-bit Windows. However, you must have Microsoft .NET 2.0-3.5 Framework or Microsoft .NET 4.0-4.6 Framework.
The process is very straightforward as EasyBCD comes with fewer options and all the features are well organized. Hence, you will not get any problem at all. Anyway, at first, download EasyBCD and install it. Following that, you will get a screen something like the following picture,
Here you will get all install Windows. Go to Edit Boot Menu. You should get the install Windows on this screen. Now, carefully decide which one you would like to rename. Select that and click on Rename button.
Now, you can write down anything as the name of that Windows. This is also possible to use your own name as the Windows name. After making the change, hit the Save Settings button.
That’s it! Your Windows will be renamed.
