Specifications And First Impressions Of Blue Vivo 5

The Florida based mobile phone manufacturer Blu Products launched a new variant Vivo 5 in their famous Vivo Series at CES 2016, its first metallic unibody device, according to the report. This device looks pretty sharp indeed and has high end specs. Let’s take a look at it and find out what it has to impress us with.

Blu Vivo 5 looks indeed stunning with it’s aluminium unibody curved display with premium finish. You almost couldn’t find the side bezels in this phone, it gives the screen spread until the end of sides. Top , bottom bezels also do look shiny on this device. Overall, thumbs up for its design and build quality. It has a 5.5 inch 720p HD display @267ppi with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Without a doubt, this display would give you great touch responsiveness, vivid color production and great viewing angles. But that said, you would definitely notice the difference with a 5.5 inch screen having 720p resolution and 1080p resolution. Gorilla Glass 3 protection would help from external damage to the screen. Coming to dimensions, Blu Vivo 5 measures 151.9 x 76.4 x 6.9 mm and weighs 141 grams. Again, this device is thinner compared to many smart phones, and lighter feels great in hand.

Under the hood, Blu Vivo 5 features a 64-bit 1.3 GHz octa core MediaTek 6753 SoC coupled with Mali T720 GPU. Having 3 GB RAM and 32 GB flash storage which can be expandable up to 64 GB via Micro SD Card, this device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. As you can see, it has a high end core specs and you wouldn’t find any hitch with it’s performance. With 3 GB RAM, this device can handle bunch of apps, high graphical games and high end processing without any hitch. With it’s 32 GB onboard storage, you can also load your favorite multi media stuff in this device. Again, the storage is expandable so you rarely find a issue here. Running Lollipop would be a downside for this device, but you can expect marshmallow update soon.

Coming to camera section, Blu Vivo 5 features a 13 MP (Phase Detect Auto Focus, LED flash, 4128×3096 resolution) on the back and 5 MP wide angle lens on the front. Using the camera you can record 1080p HD video @ 30 frames per second. So, you can expect nice performance from this camera as well. You will get shots with appropriate saturation and LED flash would be there to help you on low light conditions. With wide angle lens on the front side,you can click nice selfie shots with your near and dear ones with ease.

Blu Vivo 5 has a 3150 mAh battery inside. Even though this number is high on paper, this device has to handle HD display and octa core processor. But if you are an average user, you can definitely last a day on this device. Coming to connectivity, Blu Vivo 5 supports 4G LTE (2/4/7 bands), 3G (850/1700/1900/2100 bands), Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS. This device also comes with USB Type-C and FM radio.

Blu Vivo got announced at $200 which is approximately equal to ₹13.5k and is expected to hit the US markets in coming Feb. Now comes the question, whether you should buy it or not. Well, Even though this device has USB Type-C and FM radio, it sure has down sides like lack of fingerprint scanner and NFC, which we are seeing in many mobiles. That said, depending on specs on paper, you can definitely consider buying it because it has great shiny design, HD display, octa core processor, nice camera and battery. If you are satisfied with what it can offer, you can try it considering.
