Android Q has some of the awesome features such as inbuilt screen recording, system-wide dark mode, and many others. One of the best and secure features of Android Q is you can share Wi-Fi connection with friends or someone without telling him/her the password.

Let’s assume that someone has come to your office or home and he/she needs to do some work online. In most of the cases, he/she will ask for your Wi-Fi password, and this is a very common scenario. Many people do not prefer to share the password with certain people for different reasons. If you are one of them, and you want to allow him/her to access your Wi-Fi network, but you do not want to reveal the password, Android Q might help you.

The drawback of this feature is you, and the other person must have an Android mobile running Android Q. Although some other manufacturers such as Huawei, Redmi, etc. have already included this feature in their OEMs if you do not have a Pixel phone running Android Q, you cannot make use of this functionality.

As this is an inbuilt feature, there is no need to download anything. To get started, do follow the following steps.

At first, connect your phone to the Wi-Fi network that you want to share and open the Settings app and go to Notifications & Internet. After that, you have to tap the Wi-Fi option. Here you can find all the Wi-Fi networks that are currently available in your area. You need to tap the settings gear icon visible next to your connected Wi-Fi network.

On the next screen, you should find an option called Share. Tap on this button and use your fingerprint/PIN to confirm the share.

After that, you should find a QR code on your screen. The person needs to scan this QR code from his/her mobile. To scan this code, he/she needs to follow these following steps. At first, open the Wi-Fi menu in your mobile and tap the Add network button. Here the person generally needs to enter the SSID and password. However, there is no need to do that thing. Instead, you can find a scan sign in the SSID field.

Tap on this icon and use the camera to scan the QR code.

After that, the person will be able to use your Wi-Fi network. Once he/she turn off the Wi-Fi, he/she needs to repeat the whole process if he/she wants to connect to the Wi-Fi network again.
