You do not need to do anything to enable Smart Compose in Gmail web or Android app since Google has turned it on for you. How to Disable Smart Compose in Gmail Web?
To turn off or disable Smart Compose in Gmail web, do follow these steps.
- Open your Gmail account.
- Click the setting gear button and select Settings.
- In the General tab, find out Smart Compose.
- By default, it should be set to “Writing suggestions on.” You need to select the other option, which says “Writing suggestions off.”
Now you won’t get the Smart Compose in your Gmail account.
How to Disable Smart Compose in Gmail for Android?
To turn off or disable Smart Compose in Gmail for Android, do follow these steps.
- Open the Gmail app.
- Tap the button which looks like three horizontal lines and select Settings.
- Select the Gmail account if you have multiple accounts in your mobile.
- Here you can find a checkbox says Smart Compose. You need to remove the tick from the checkbox.
That’s it! Now you cannot find the Smart Compose feature in your Gmail account.
Note: Smart Compose feature is an account-based feature. That means if you disable it for one account, the change won’t appear in another account. You need to disable or enable it for a particular account.
