Finally remember to backup all your important data because this process will reset all the data on your device.
Even though the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the S9 plus are powerful devices with a lot of features by themselves, rooting your device gives it more abilities like improving the battery life, removing bloatware and extra customization options. Just follow the below steps to proceed rooting your device.

First step involves in enabling the OEM unlock option from the developer options settings on your device. If you have not previously enabled it, Go to your Settings app and then open About phone->Software information->build number and then tap it 7 times.
Now go back to the main settings page and then select the developer options and then enable the OEM unlock option.
In order to proceed you have to install Samsung’s proprietary software called ODIN for flashing zip files to your device.
You can download the zip file from here and then extract it to a new folder on the desktop of your PC.
Now download the respective TWRP recovery for your device from the links below.
You have to now enter your device into download mode. You can do that by pressing and holding the power, volume down and the Bixby button. After a few seconds you will be prompted to press the volume up button to enter into the download mode.
Now open the extracted ODIN files on your desktop and then install ODIN software on your PC. Once the installation process is complete open the ODIN.exe file to launch the ODIN software.
Click on the AP button on the homescreen and then browse and select the respective TWRP file of your device.
Now install the Samsung USB drivers from here on your PC and then connect your Galaxy S9 device to your PC using the USB cable.
The ODIN software will now recognize your device. You can now press the start button on the ODIN software to begin the flashing process while holding on to the Volume up, Power and Bixby keys. Do not release the keys until the process is over and you are booted into TWRP recovery.
Once you are booted into the TWRP recovery, swipe the slider to allow modifications and then select wipe->format data to format your device to proceed.
Now go to Reboot->Recovery to reboot into the TWRP recovery. Now download the dm-verify and force encryption disabler zip file from the link here. Transfer the file to your phone and then select Install on the TWRP recovery and select the file to flash the file.
Once the flashing is completed, reboot your device and set it up with your Samsung and Google accounts.

Now download the zip file to root your device from here and then transfer it to your phone. Repeat the same process in step 11 to flash the zip file to your device.
If any prompt is displayed during the installation process just click on yes to proceed and complete the rooting process.
Once the process is done, just reboot your device and your Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9 plus will be rooted with the SuperSU app will be installed.
