LG, the one of the most trustworthy Korean electronics company has launch a brand new Android smartphone in Russia that is named LG Ray X190. This is a mid-range smartphone with “up-to-the” mark features. That means, some features are better than other smartphones at this range, when some features aren’t. As of now, this mobile manufacturer has launched it in Russia only. But, they must have a plan to make it available in other regions. LG Ray X190 Specifications & Features

Actually, LG has made some improvements this time. But, most of the features are very similar to other older mobiles. This can be a drawback of this new flagship of LG. anyway, as a mid-range smartphone, this is not too bad.

Body & Design

No matter how much money you spend to buy a LG smartphone, but you will never get an “amazing” looks in anyone of them. Unfortunately, LG is caring that tradition in this mobile as well. In other words, the overall look is not so good to be impressive. In the front, you will get the camera and other stuffs. In the back, the LG logo in printed. Apart from them, you will get camera, flash and (probably) volume button along with the speaker. According to the teaser image, the speaker seems pretty bigger than other LG mobiles. The dimension of this mobile is 152.50 x 76.40 x 9.30mm and it weighs 156gm. Comparing this with other mobile, you can say this is not too light.

Network & Connectivity

The bad news is it doesn’t support 4G. that means, only 2G and 3G are available in LG Ray X190 mobile. However, the 3G speed is good enough to fulfil your demand. But, still the drawback will remain same. Apart from that, you will get Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and microUSB 2.0 in this mobile. According to these features, you can mark it as a mid-range smartphone – some entry-level and mid-range smartphones like Moto E comes with 4G though.

Display

LG always offer a good display and this time, there is no change at all since you will get 5.5-inch IPS touch capacitive display along with multi-touch support. Although, the pixel density is too low (~267ppi) but the color density is 16M. Having said that, you will get a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Although, this is best at this range, but this is bad too. The touchscreen has 2 fingers multi-touch support, which will let you play games in a better way.

Chipset

Alike those two new Pepsi mobiles (P1 & P1s), you will get MediaTek chipset in LG Ray X190. More specifically, MediaTek MT6592M is included in this mobile to power up. On the other hand, you will get octa-core processor with a clock speed of 1.4GHz. As usual, Mali 400 GPU will be there in this new smartphone. Although, this mobile is better than some older LG mobiles, yet, this is no better than some other mobiles from other companies. That means, users need to think before buying it.

RAM & Storage

Now, here is another drawback. Although, the price is around Rs. 15k (INR), yet, you will get 1GB RAM. This can be a reason, why people will get an average experience. If you compare it with other mobiles, you can find that some mobiles are having 2GB RAM even when the price is lower that this one. However, you will get 16GB internal memory that can be protracted up to 32GB.

Camera

Although, chipsets and camera are not too good, yet, you can find a good camera in this mobile with geo-tagging, autofocus, 1080p recording and more. LG Ray X190 is carrying a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and other aforementioned features. You can use this camera to record video in 1080p at 30 FPS. Along with the rear camera, you will get 8MP front facing camera. Generally, front camera of LG mobiles does not provide a great result, yet, this time there is no guarantee.

Battery

When other features are dragging it behind other mobile, the battery can be a plus point as it contains Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery that is capable of providing up to 500 hours of standby.

Verdict

Frankly speaking, being a mid-range smartphone, LG is not providing as good features as they should be. Therefore, people will need to think twice before purchasing this mobile since other mobile manufacturers are providing much better configuration at that price range.
