Lenovo Announced Vibe S1 Lite With 8MP Front Camera

After the success of Vibe S1 with dual front cameras and some great specs, Lenovo launching another variant in Vibe series which is called Vibe S1 Lite. As you might’ve already guessed by name, it is like compact version of Vibe S1in terms of specs, which was launched last yer. Even though complete specs aren’t available yet, this device with average price bracket looks interesting with it’s specs.

Display and Dimensions

Lenovo Vibe S1 Lite features FHD display (1080×1920 resolution) in a 5 inch screen with curvy body having metallic finish, same as Vibe S1. The brightest aspect of this device would be it’s display as one would expect FHD resolution in a 5 inch screen would be crystal clear. With appropriate amount of brightness, color production, nice viewing angles, this display won’t disappoint you. Dimensions of this device are 145 x 71 x 8.55mm and it weighs 129 grams only. As you can see this device would be thin and light to carry and it comes in Matte white and Matte blue colors.

Under the Hood

Lenovo Vibe S1 has a 1.3GHz Octa- Core MediaTek MT6753 SoC coupled with Mali T720 GPU. Coming to memory, it comes with a 2GB of RAM, 16 GB flash storage which can be expandable using MicroSD card. If you compare this with Vibe S1, you could see it had 1.7GHz octa core processor and 3 GB RAM. If you compare both devices in terms of power, definitely S1 Lite is compact version with low budget so has reduced processing power and RAM, but as an average user, you wouldn’t find much difference between the two, and you could use the Lite version without getting any hitch. This device runs Android Lollipop 5.1 which is a downside as of now, but we can expect an OTA update soon.

Camera Department

Lenovo Vibe S1 Lite has 13MP Phase detect Auto focus (PDAF) primary camera dual tone LED flash and BSI sensor for better image quality on the back. One can expect better quality HD images using this device and Dual LED flash would take care of low light conditions as well.

If you remember, Vibe S1 featured dual front facing sensors to give you better selfie quality. Even though Lite version doesn’t come with dual shooters, it does have a 8MP Sony sensor with LED flash on the front (which is a 5P lens). So one can guarantee for HD selfie shots and video calls even on low light conditions.

Battery, Connectivity and Others

Lenovo Vibe S1 Lite packs a 2700mAh battery. Coming to Connectivity, this device supports 4G but comes with Hybrid SIM slot (Nano + Nano/SD) which means either you can use dual SIMs on this device or you have to sacrifice one SIM for expandable storage. Since many of us are using mobile devices to store our favorite songs, videos and stuff, you might actually run out of memory soon in this device so you would probably had to keep that in mind. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

Conclusion

Lenovo Vibe S1 Lite announced for $199 which is approx equal to Rs.13.25K. Comparing with Vibe S1 which was a 20K device, you would definitely find not so good areas but for the price bracket those sacrifices also come along. But if you look at this device as it is, you would find it has got above average specs and would bear average performance like a cake walk.

So, if your budget is below 14K and looking for a device with balanced specs and features in that budget, you can take a look at this device.
